Employee Responsibilities
General Responsibilities
o Greet all visitors in a polite and friendly manner
o Assist visitors with checking in for and/or scheduling tours
o General cleaning and maintenance to include, but not limited to:
Bathroom cleaning and restocking
Sweeping
Mopping
Dusting
Litter Pickup
Trash Disposal
Recycling collection and sorting
Raking
Weeding
Watering indoor and outdoor plants
Snow shoveling
o Restocking supplies
o Taking and retrieving stock to and from storage
o Checking in and pricing shipments
o Packaging of supplies and merchandise
o Computer and/or photocopier use to produce labels and/or other print needs
Tour Guide Responsibilities
o Giving thorough, informative tours in a polite and friendly manner
o Keeping tours organized and enforcing Lost River Caverns’ policies
o For Group Tours:
Keep groups organized and facilitate rotation
through assigned activities
Learning and giving the rock talk and hand
painting activities
Organizing and overseeing the “Gilman
Museum Artifact Hunt”
Showing the cave videos, as needed
Organize, teach, and direct other activities as
they are developed
Sales Associate Responsibilities
o Conduct register sales in an accurate and efficient manner
o Assist customers in finding merchandise and associated costs
o Maintaining display stock and organization
